Alan Rusonik, our Principal & Head of School, brings over 20 years of administrative experience to Heschel. He is responsible for overseeing the school's day-to-day operations, fostering a positive school culture, and working closely with all stakeholders to build enthusiasm and commitment to THS. Alan is dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching and learning, with a strong focus on student achievement and development. In collaboration with the Leadership Team, he will strategize around program improvement, innovation, and staff support.

Andrea is responsible for the daily operations of the Preschool, and Junior and Senior Kindergarten, including pedagogy, student achievement, faculty support, supervision and evaluation, and curriculum development and implementation in conjunction with the Head of School/Director of Education and the Principal. She is also responsible for maintaining compliance and meeting all licensing requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act. Andrea is responsible for working with and mentoring the teachers by informing best practices to help maintain high-quality programming.

Ellen is responsible for leading and supporting fundraising and engagement initiatives at The Toronto Heschel School. She works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, Heschel families, and the community, to develop meaningful opportunities for philanthropy and community engagement.

Eric is responsible for the daily running of Junior High, including pedagogy, student achievement, faculty support, supervision, evaluation, and curriculum development and implementation in conjunction with the Head of School/Director of Education and The Learning Centre.

Galit is responsible for bringing new students and families into the school. Galit works with prospective families, applicants and future families at every stage of the admissions process. She looks forward to sharing the school’s educational philosophy, outlook, and welcoming community with interested parties and discussing whether The Toronto Heschel School would be the right fit for your child.

As Director of Elementary, Ilana oversees the division’s daily operations, focusing on curriculum development, faculty support, and student achievement. She plays a key role in supervising and evaluating teaching practices, working closely with the Head of School/Director of Education and The Learning Centre to implement effective educational strategies.
